Rabbi Daniel Freund


Rabbi Daniel Freund and his family have lived in St. Louis for the past six years. Rabbi Freund received his Rabbinic Ordination from Lander College and earned his BA in economics from Yeshiva University. He also holds in MA in Educational Leadership from Bellevue University and is an adjunct faculty member of Bellevue University's Business School.

Rabbi Moshe Shulman

Founding Dean

Rabbi Shulman is a graduate of the Sha'alvim Educational Center, with Rabbinic ordination from the Jerusalem Chief Rabbinate. He is also a graduate of Sha'alvim's Sha'al Institute for Rabbinic and Educational Training. He holds a Teacher's Degree from Sha'alvim Teacher's College and a B.Sc. in Computer Software Engineering from the Jerusalem College of Technology. He has had a distinguished rabbinic career for over two decades in communal rabbinic leadership in Canada and now in St. Louis, and has taught Judaic Studies at high schools in the communities where he has served. 





Esther Freund

Judaic Studies

Esther Freund is teaching Shmiras Halashon this year. She has previously taught at Epstein Hebrew Academy, Bernard Horwitz JCC, Chicago, and Hanna Sack Bais Yaakov High School, Chicago. 

Rabbi Jonathan Fruchter

Judaic Studies

After high school Rabbi Fruchter went to learn in Israel at Yeshivat Netiv Aryeh for one and a half years. He then went on to attend Yeshiva University where he graduated with a degree in Accounting from the Sy Syms School of Business. He continued his education at RIETS, where he received his rabbinic ordination, while simultaneously attending the Azrieli Graduate School for Jewish Education and Administration to receive his masters in Jewish Education. Having most recently lived in Buffalo for the past five years but now lives in St. Louis with his wife Lisa, a former St. Louisan, and their three children, Leora, Daniel, and Eitan.

Chani Pinsberg

Hebrew Language

Chani Pinsberg has extensive experience teaching Hebrew in the St. Louis community. She received her degree in Hebrew Grammar and Arabic from Tel Aviv University. Geveret Pinsberg loves sharing her knowledge of Israeli culture and heritage with her students.

Rabbi Michael Rovinsky

Judaic Studies

“Rabbi Mike” as he is affectionately known has been involved in formal and in family Jewish education for over three decades. In addition to teaching middle school and high school he has served as a Judaic Studies principal at Akiba Academy of Dallas (his alma mater) and as the executive director for close to a decade of the Epstein Hebrew Academy. Presently he is the director of both NCSY and JSU in St Louis, where he engages Jewish teens attending non-Jewish high schools with the beauty of their heritage and Israel.

Elissa Schachter

Jewish History

Elissa Schachter is originally from Fair Lawn, NJ and moved to St. Louis two years ago with her husband, Michael and her two young children, Hannah and Noah. Before moving here, she taught World, American, and AP European History for six years in NJ and NY. She has a BA in History and Sociology from Yeshiva University, and an MA in History Education from NYU.
